AZ UPA Leadership Roles

This week, I will be working on developing a short list of leadership roles for the AZ UPA. The UPA Association Office needs us to have a fairly formal hierarchy of an initial chapter council. The chapter council consists of:

President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer

A couple of you have expressed an interest in a leadership role and I will call on you for that to get started. Don't worry, I think we have enough people to have leadership roles to go around. Once we're up and running, I'd like to also create, in addition to those roles above, the following leaders as well:

Membership director
Education director
Special projects director

In any event, if you have not already told me so, please let me know if you would be interested in a leadership role for our chapter and I'll be in touch with you shortly..

Thank you in advance.

Other UPA Members in Arizona

I think we should have enough people to start a charter here in Arizona. I would like to ask a favor in that if you know anyone at your organization or colleagues that you know are UPA members in good standing, please refer them to me or the blog (http://arizonaupa.blogspot.com) so that we can get everyone we can involved.

I initially contacted you all from the database that the UPA has for members in Arizona, however, there might be some folks that have become new members that were not included. If you know of anyone, please pass along this message.

Thanks!

Please enter your email address in the "subscribe via email" section of this Arizona UPA blog. This will allow me to provide information in a central location as well as giving us all two-way communication about the details and next steps so we can get this chapter up and running.
Thanks all. Talk with you soon.

Starting an Arizona Chapter of UPA - Join Today

I'm starting up an Arizona chapter of UPA and wanted to see if you would be interested in joining. (It would cost approximately $20/year to join)

My goal would be to have you join as a member of the UPA-Arizona to develop a network of Arizona-based usability professionals. We could meet 4-6 times per year to share news, ideas, thoughts and experiences as a usability professional with others of us in the Arizona usability community. The Arizona community has multiple levels of usability experience: website usability professionals, design engineers and software usability specialists. This chapter would be open to any Arizona based UPA member who works in the realm of user centered design.

If you would be interested in joining this new Arizona chapter, just email me and let me know. Once I get a headcount of interested members, I'll outline the next steps for chapter creation and after that, setup a meeting calendar.
I hope to hear from you.

Thanks.
